How We Met
We first met in 2010 in the Woodroffe School Sixth Form. We shared a love of music, both playing in the school orchestra and were in similar friend groups but rarely interacted throughout school due to us both dating other people. Charley also thought that Josh was too loud and rowdy, not much has changed there!
It was a message that Josh sent out of boredom whilst working that resulted in our first date. The Intention was to meet for coffee and a catch up. An hour turned into three and before long, the coffee shop was closing. With every subject, we found that we shared a lot of interests so we decided to extend the date into the evening by going for a walk along the Quay in Exeter and had dinner at the Waterfront.
The Proposal
The proposal happened on the 5th of October 2024 in Josh’s hometown of Lyme Regis. After months of planning, Josh somehow managed to organise the ring, a walk along the cobb, and a family celebration at the Harbour Inn with Charley being totally clueless.
Josh’s friend Max stood nearby, camoflaged as a tourist taking photos of the landscapes in order to capture our engagement.
What Comes Next?
Shortly after our wedding, we will be heading to Japan for our Honeymoon. A trip we have been planning for over 5 years. We both love the food, culture, and arts that you would only find in Japan. We can’t wait for the adventure of a lifetime!

The Church
The Church of St Mary’s in Offwell holds a special place in Charleys heart as she visited the church every week whilst attending Offwell primary school.
